Our History

Davies International was founded by John Davies in 1971, operating just two vehicles to and from Italy. 

From the mid-1980’s, the demand for perishable foodstuffs to be transported from Europe to UK became so that Davies International made the decision to enter the marketplace offering specialised transportation in this sector. 

After this, there became a strong need for transport in the cruise industry and following that, the pharmaceutical industry where we now service many clients.

In order to create and continue the high level of service to its clients, Davies International’s vehicle fleet is of the highest specification. First and foremost, to ensure temperature and security standards meet client’s every requirement from load point through to ultimate delivery.

As the business has grown over the past 50 years, John’s son’s James and Steven have become an integral part of the business. We are very proud to have a fleet of vehicles, purchased the HQ premises in Segensworth, Hampshire and also refurbished the warehouse in 2021.

Our Fleet

Our new fleet of trucks which arrived in 2022 are of the highest specification to maximise customer’s needs and be compliant in every country we travel to and through. We provide temperature-controlled transportation and ensure your hazardous consignment is collected and delivered whilst adhering to all European law and legislation including ADR Goods in Packages: Class 2/3/4/5/6/8/9. Temperature can be controlled between a range of minus thirty to plus thirty degrees celsius.

Environment responsibility is extremely important. We can also monitor vehicle and driver data to ensure vehicles are being driven to the maximum of efficiency the use of cruise control.

We do require the services of permanent and ‘ad-hoc’ sub-contractors/agents to assist in managing contracts we have with our customers. We are always looking to make new links with:

charity work

It has always been important to us to support charities and one in particular which is close to our heart is Great Ormond Street Hospital and Children’s Charity. 

Our very own Steven Davies has been instrumental in raising over £50,000 for them which was our aim when we hit our 50th year in business. 

One of the things we did to raise the money was create a book celebrating our 50th Anniversary, which we sold at a fundraising event and donated all the profits (click the pic to view).
